Social & Nature Connection
Questions? Nature is the core of the curriculum, where we spend 100% of our time outdoors, rain or shine. Over the course of the year, our teachers implement high-quality environmental education practices. The environment is our teacher and our focus is on social, emotional and physical regulation. We encourage risky play and problem-solving, while building confidence. We spend the majority of our time in our private forest and trails - identifying plant species native to our environment and identification of animal tracks - while incorporating survival skills as we discuss safety. Nature is infused into all aspects of the program and emphasizes inquiry-based learning through play and hands-on discovery. Our curriculum is emergent (i.e., based on children’s interests), but typically rooted in the seasonal happenings of the natural world.
“Let Nature be your facilitator.”
